New Covid-19 cases in Indonesia increased by 400 on Wednesday, May 11, 2022. DKI Jakarta was the largest contributor to the daily increase in Covid-19 cases.
The Covid-19 Task Force report notes that DKI Jakarta contributed 129 cases, equivalent to 32.25% of the total new national Covid-19 cases.
West Java recorded 64 new Covid-19 cases. East Java and Bali each had 47 and 31 new Covid-19 cases, respectively.
Central Java and Banten also contributed to the national increase in new Covid-19 cases, with 26 cases each. East Kalimantan and West Kalimantan each recorded 8 new Covid-19 cases.
Meanwhile, North Maluku ranked 10th with the highest number of new Covid-19 cases, totaling 7 cases.
Based on the data, new Covid-19 cases were spread across 26 provinces. Eight other provinces reported no increase in new Covid-19 cases.
The total number of Covid-19 cases in Indonesia reached 6,049,541. 156,424 people have died, and 5,887,786 have recovered.
One step to curb the increase in new Covid-19 cases is to reduce the rate of coronavirus transmission. This can be done by diligently implementing the 3M health protocols: wearing a mask, maintaining distance, and washing hands with soap.
