The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) notes that 276 regencies/cities have elderly vaccination coverage based on KTP (Indonesian ID card) identity above the national average, currently recorded at 55.92 percent as of Wednesday, May 18, 2022.
The top five regencies/cities with elderly vaccination rates exceeding 101.27 percent are Solok City, Garut, Aceh Singkil, Sukabumi, and Aceh Besar, with respective values of 119 percent, 114.69 percent, 114.62 percent, 104.98 percent, and 101.27 percent.
National Covid-19 data recapitulation from the Ministry of Health shows an increase in elderly vaccination in most regencies/cities outside Java. Daily elderly vaccination rates higher than previous days were recorded in 303 regencies/cities, while one regency/city recorded lower elderly vaccination.
Some of the areas outside Java with the highest elderly vaccination rates include Solok City, Aceh Singkil, and Aceh Besar, with elderly vaccination rates of 119 percent, 114.62 percent, and 101.27 percent, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
