Many Indonesian healthcare workers experienced mental exhaustion or burnout during the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic. Research by the Department of Medical Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, University of Indonesia (FKUI), revealed that 82% of healthcare workers experienced moderate burnout.

One percent experienced severe burnout, while 17% experienced mild burnout.

This mental exhaustion is attributed to the immense burden on the current healthcare system, largely due to the high number of COVID-19 patients requiring hospitalization.
