This testing achievement data is calculated based on the number of people tested compared to each region's weekly target, which is then reported to the Ministry of Health.
The top five, starting from the highest, are Badung, Jayapura City, Balikpapan City, Manokwari, and Mimika, with ratios of 985.85 percent, 975.97 percent, 941.15 percent, 836 percent, and 827.68 percent respectively.
Badung is ranked first. With a population of 727,950, the weekly testing percentage is recorded at 985.85 percent. The latest positive rate is 0.7 percent. The positive rate in this region has decreased compared to the previous week's ratio.
Next is Jayapura City. The population of this region is recorded at 309,760. In an effort to combat the COVID-19 pandemic, the weekly testing percentage is 975.97 percent. The positive rate in this region is recorded at 0.07 percent, which has also decreased compared to the previous week's percentage.
Then, Balikpapan City, with a population of 646,020, has a weekly testing percentage of 941.15 percent. Manokwari's weekly testing percentage is recorded at 836 percent, and Mimika, with a population of 221,810, has a weekly testing percentage of 827.68 percent.
Anticipating the impact of Omicron in various regions, based on the national COVID-19 data recapitulation, there are 371 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reporting higher daily weekly testing percentages than before. Meanwhile, 19 other regencies/cities recorded lower weekly testing percentages compared to the previous week.
Some of the regions outside Java with the highest weekly testing percentages include Badung, Jayapura City, and Balikpapan City, with weekly testing percentages of 985.85 percent, 975.97 percent, and 941.15 percent respectively.
Although COVID-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue to reduce COVID-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
