The top five, starting from the highest number of specimens examined per week, are Bogor City (900 specimens), Medan City (848 specimens), Pekanbaru City (848 specimens), Bogor Regency (796 specimens), and Yogyakarta City (749 specimens).
Bogor City ranks first. The number of specimens examined there is recorded at 900 specimens per week. The latest positive rate is 3.81 percent. The positive rate in this region increased compared to the previous week's ratio.
Next is Medan City. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of specimens examined was 848 per week. The positive rate in this region is recorded at 0.97 percent, also an increase compared to the previous week's percentage.
Furthermore, the number of specimens examined in Pekanbaru City was recorded at 848 specimens per week, 796 specimens per week in Bogor Regency, and 749 specimens per week in Yogyakarta City.
Anticipating the impact of Omicron in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, there are 35 regencies/cities in Indonesia that actively report the daily number of specimens examined with higher figures than before. Meanwhile, 145 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of specimens examined compared to the previous week.
Some of the regions outside Java with the highest number of specimens examined include Medan City, Pekanbaru City, and Mimika, with 848, 848, and 581 specimens examined, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue to reduce Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
