The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 54 districts/cities with a Covid-19 death rate above the national average, currently recorded at 0.04 deaths per 100,000 population per week, data as of Thursday, August 11, 2022.
The top five districts/cities with Covid-19 death rates exceeding 0.91 deaths per 100,000 population per week are Bangli (1.73 deaths per 100,000 population per week), Barito Selatan (1.42 deaths per 100,000 population per week), Banggai Laut (1.27 deaths per 100,000 population per week), Gianyar (1.14 deaths per 100,000 population per week), and Tanjung Pinang (0.91 deaths per 100,000 population per week).
A national Covid-19 data recapitulation from the Ministry of Health shows a decrease in Covid-19 deaths in most districts/cities outside Java. Seven districts/cities recorded higher daily Covid-19 death rates than previously, while seven others recorded lower rates.
Areas outside Java with the highest Covid-19 death rates include Bangli (1.73 deaths per 100,000 population per week), Barito Selatan (1.42 deaths per 100,000 population per week), and Banggai Laut (1.27 deaths per 100,000 population per week).
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to curbing the spread of the coronavirus.
