Based on national Covid-19 data, 154 regencies/cities aggressively conducted suspect testing, exceeding the national average weekly percentage. As of Tuesday, April 26, 2022, the national average was 4.89 percent. This suspect testing data is calculated based on the number of suspected individuals and close contacts compared to the total number of people tested in each region, subsequently reported to the Ministry of Health.
The top five, starting with the highest weekly suspect testing percentage, are Barito Timur (72.41%), Pangandaran (66.75%), Padang Lawas Utara (55.93%), Simalungun (48.99%), and Tasikmalaya (45.98%).
Barito Timur ranks first. With a population of 128,130, its weekly suspect testing percentage is 72.41 percent. The latest positive rate is 1.39 percent, an increase from the previous week.
Next is Pangandaran, with a population of 407,350. In its efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, its weekly suspect testing percentage reached 66.75 percent. The positive rate is 0.15 percent, a decrease from the previous week.
Padang Lawas Utara recorded a 55.93 percent weekly suspect testing percentage, Simalungun 48.99 percent, and Tasikmalaya 45.98 percent.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact, national Covid-19 data shows 166 regencies/cities actively reporting higher weekly suspect testing percentages than before. Meanwhile, 202 other regencies/cities recorded lower weekly suspect testing percentages compared to the previous week.
Areas outside Java with the highest weekly suspect testing percentages include Barito Timur, Padang Lawas Utara, and Simalungun, with percentages of 72.41 percent, 55.93 percent, and 48.99 percent respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing transmission by wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to curbing the spread of the coronavirus.
