The Indonesian government has issued Presidential Decree Number 5 of 2022 concerning the Cost of Hajj Pilgrimage (BPIH) for the year 1443 Hijriah/2022 Masehi. This cost is sourced from the Hajj Pilgrimage Trip Cost (Bipih), Value Added, and Efficiency Funds.
This regulation, signed by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) on April 29, 2022, implements Article 48 of Law Number 8 of 2019 concerning the Organization of Hajj and Umrah Pilgrimages, and Article 11 paragraph 910 of Law Number 34 of 2014 concerning Hajj Financial Management.
The Presidential Decree, as reported by the Setkab.go.id portal on Saturday (30/4/2022), states: “To determine the Cost of Hajj Pilgrimage (BPIH) for the year 1443 Hijriah/2022 Masehi, sourced from the Hajj Pilgrimage Trip Cost (Bipih), Value Added, and Efficiency Funds.”
According to the Presidential Decree, the 2022 Hajj cost from Makassar embarkation is the most expensive, while the Aceh embarkation is the cheapest.

Previously, the government and the House of Representatives agreed to set the Hajj pilgrimage trip cost (Bipih) for regular Hajj at Rp39.89 million per pilgrim for the 1443H/2022M Hajj season.
Therefore, the total Cost of Hajj Pilgrimage (BPIH) per pilgrim is as follows:
* Bipih: Rp39.89 million
* Health protocol costs: Rp808,620
* Costs sourced from Hajj financial benefits: Rp41.05 million
* Total: Rp81.75 million
