Top 10 Regencies/Cities with the Highest Percentage of Weekly People Checked (Saturday, June 18, 2022)

Based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 121 regencies/cities aggressively conducted weekly testing exceeding the national average. As of Saturday, June 18, 2022, the national average testing rate was recorded at 58.75 percent. This testing achievement data is calculated based on the number of people tested compared to each region's weekly target, which is then reported to the Ministry of Health.

The top five, starting from the highest weekly percentage of people tested, are South Jakarta (806.23%), Central Jakarta (788.66%), Badung (523.35%), Sorong City (522.86%), and East Jakarta (517.07%).

South Jakarta ranks first, with a weekly testing percentage of 806.23 percent. The latest positive rate is 5.97 percent, an increase compared to the previous week.

Next is Central Jakarta, with a population of 913,720. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, the weekly testing percentage reached 788.66 percent. The positive rate in this region is 3.97 percent, also higher than the previous week's ratio.

Following this, Badung recorded 523.35 percent testing, Sorong City 522.86 percent, and East Jakarta 517.07 percent.

In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 164 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported higher weekly testing percentages than before. Meanwhile, 208 other regencies/cities recorded lower weekly testing percentages compared to the previous week.

Some of the regions outside Java with the highest weekly testing percentage ratios include Badung (523.35%), Sorong City (522.86%), and Balikpapan (485.09%).

Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
