Crude Palm Oil (CPO) prices on the Rotterdam Spot Market increased by 0.48% to US$1,050 per metric ton on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, from the previous day's closing price. The CPO price reached its highest level of US$1,050 per metric ton on Tuesday, March 12, 2024.
Compared to the beginning of the year, the CPO price on the Spot Market today is up 16.02% (year-to-date/YTD). Similarly, year-on-year (YOY), the CPO price has increased by 8.25% compared to the same period.
Meanwhile, domestically, the CPO price on the Medan spot market reached Rp 13,530 per kg at the close of trading on Friday, December 15, 2023.
Compared to the position on December 31, 2021, the CPO price on the Medan Spot Market as of May 30, 2022, had increased by Rp 5,988.55 per kg, or a year-to-date (YTD) increase of 17.04% as of today.
In some regions of Indonesia, the price of branded cooking oil remains high. The National Strategic Food Price Information Center (PIHPS) reported that cooking oil prices were still above Rp 20,000 per kg yesterday.
For example, in North Maluku, cooking oil is sold at Rp 25,700 per kg. In Central Java, the price is Rp 22,250 per kg; in Gorontalo, Rp 21,900 per kg; in Bangka Belitung Islands, Rp 21,050 per kg; and in West Sumatra, Rp 20,950 per kg.
