The top five, starting with the highest number of specimens examined per week, are Kubu Raya (998 specimens), Pangandaran (970 specimens), Madiun City (968 specimens), Singkawang City (956 specimens), and Blora (926 specimens).
Kubu Raya ranks first. With a population of 594,260, the number of specimens examined there is recorded at 998 per week. The latest positive rate is 0.76 percent. The positive rate in this region has decreased compared to the previous week.
Next is Pangandaran. The population of this region is 407,350. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, 970 specimens were examined per week. The positive rate in this region is recorded at 0 percent, a decrease from the previous week's ratio.
Madiun City recorded 968 specimens examined per week, Singkawang City recorded 956 specimens per week, and Blora recorded 926 specimens per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 164 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher number of daily specimens examined than before. Meanwhile, 189 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of specimens examined compared to the previous week.
Areas outside Java with the highest number of specimens examined include Kubu Raya, Singkawang City, and Serdang Bedagai, with 998, 956, and 921 specimens examined, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
