The top five, starting with the highest number of tests per 1,000 people per week, are Halmahera Tengah (8.51 people), Indragiri Hulu (3.82 people), Central Jakarta (2.52 people), South Jakarta (2.43 people), and Balikpapan (2.35 people).
Halmahera Tengah ranks first. With a population of 59,226, the number of people tested there was 8.51 per 1,000 people per week. The latest positive rate is 0 percent. The positive rate in this region has decreased compared to the previous week.
Next is Indragiri Hulu. The population of this region is 453,480. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of people tested was 3.82 per 1,000 people per week. The positive rate in this region is 0 percent, also down from the previous week.
Central Jakarta recorded 2.52 tests per 1,000 people per week, South Jakarta 2.43 tests per 1,000 people per week, and Balikpapan 2.35 tests per 1,000 people per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron variant's impact in various regions, based on national Covid-19 data, 86 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher number of daily tests than before. Meanwhile, 142 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of tests compared to the previous week.
Areas outside Java with the highest number of tests include Halmahera Tengah, Indragiri Hulu, and Balikpapan, with 8.51, 3.82, and 2.35 tests per 1,000 people per week, respectively.
