The top five, starting from the highest, are Cimahi City, Kediri, Batam City, Indragiri Hulu, and Banjarmasin City, with 952, 941, 924, 891, and 888 specimens per week, respectively.
Cimahi City ranks first. With a population of 610,490, the number of specimens examined there is recorded at 952 per week. The latest positive rate is 9.34 percent. The positive rate in this region has decreased compared to the previous week's ratio.
Next is Kediri. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of specimens examined was 941 per week. The positive rate in this region is recorded at 2.29 percent, also down from the previous week's percentage.
Then, Batam City recorded 924 specimens per week, Indragiri Hulu recorded 891 specimens per week, and Banjarmasin City, with a population of 719,580, recorded 888 specimens per week.
Anticipating the impact of Omicron in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 113 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher daily number of specimens examined than before. Meanwhile, 166 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of specimens examined compared to the previous week.
Some of the regions outside Java with the highest number of specimens examined include Batam City, Indragiri Hulu, and Banjarmasin City, with 924, 891, and 888 specimens examined, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
