The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 117 districts/cities with a weekly confirmed positive Covid-19 case count above the national average, currently recorded at 0.22 per 100,000 population/week (data as of Thursday, March 9, 2023).
The top five districts/cities with the highest confirmed positive cases, exceeding 4.77 per 100,000 population/week, are Central Jakarta, South Jakarta, East Jakarta, North Jakarta, and West Jakarta, with respective values of 7.87, 6.63, 4.89, 4.78, and 4.77 per 100,000 population/week.
A national Covid-19 data recapitulation from the Ministry of Health shows that most districts/cities outside Java Island experienced a decrease in confirmed positive cases. Eight districts/cities recorded higher daily confirmed positive cases than before, while 26 districts/cities recorded lower confirmed positive cases.
Areas outside Java with the highest confirmed positive case rates include Mahakam Ulu, Tana Tidung, and Bangka Selatan, with respective confirmed positive cases of 3.72, 3.1, and 2.33 per 100,000 population/week.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
