The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) has allocated 9.3 million doses of the second Covid-19 booster vaccine to enhance the protection of the Indonesian people against the coronavirus.
"The stock (of booster vaccines) is stored centrally at 7.2 million doses and in regions at 2.1 million doses," said the Head of the Bureau of Communication and Public Service of the Ministry of Health, dr. Siti Nadia Tarmizi, as quoted from Katadata.co.id, Monday (January 23rd).
Based on brand, the majority of the second Covid-19 booster vaccine stock comes from IndoVac Merah Putih. The details are as follows:
1. IndoVac Merah Putih: 4,528,570 doses
2. Pfizer: 3,344,772 doses
3. InaVac Merah Putih: 1,171,755 doses
4. Zifivax: 189,684 doses
5. Janssen: 138,185 doses
6. Sinopharm: 8,404 doses
Based on storage location, the second Covid-19 booster vaccine stock in the central government comes from:
* Purchased vaccines, stored in central government storage facilities: 7,216,315 doses
* Donated vaccines: 2,039,020 doses
Meanwhile, the second Covid-19 booster vaccine stock in regional governments comes from:
* Purchased vaccines: 523,030 doses
* Donated vaccines: 1,642,025 doses
Previously, the Spokesperson for the Ministry of Health, dr. Mohammad Syahril, stated that the general public can now receive the second Covid-19 booster vaccine. "This is an effort to accelerate vaccination and increase the protection of the Indonesian people," he said.
The second Covid-19 booster vaccine can be given to all members of the general public aged 18 and above, starting January 24, 2023, without waiting for a ticket or invitation. "Record-keeping is still being done manually while waiting for P-care and PeduliLindungi to be prepared," said Syahril.
This regulation is stipulated in Circular Letter Number HK.02.02/C/380/2023 concerning the Second Booster Dose of COVID-19 Vaccination for the General Public, issued by the Director General of Disease Prevention and Control on January 20th.
