The top five, starting from the highest, are Palangkaraya City, Banjarmasin City, Cimahi City, Kediri City, and Semarang City, with 956, 955, 950, 935, and 930 specimens per week, respectively.
Palangkaraya City ranks first. With a population of 295,790, 956 specimens were examined per week. The latest positive rate is six percent. The positive rate in this region increased compared to the previous week's ratio.
Next is Banjarmasin City. The population is 719,580. In efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, 955 specimens were examined per week. The positive rate in this region is 0.85 percent, a decrease compared to the previous week's ratio.
Furthermore, Cimahi City recorded 950 specimens per week, Kediri City 935 specimens per week, and Semarang City 930 specimens per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 103 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher daily number of specimens examined than before. Meanwhile, 163 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of specimens examined compared to the previous week.
Areas outside Java with the highest number of specimens examined include Palangkaraya City, Banjarmasin City, and Mimika, with 956, 955, and 901 specimens examined, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
