Based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 139 regencies/cities aggressively conducted Covid-19 tests in the last week, exceeding the national average. Data as of Wednesday, March 22, 2023, shows a national average of 91.47 tests per week.
The top five, starting from the highest, are Kutai Kartanegara, Sidoarjo, Bogor City, Garut, and Kediri, with 928, 917, 826, 797, and 793 tests per week respectively.
Kutai Kartanegara ranks first. With a population of 802,710, the number of people tested in the last week was 928 per week. The latest positive rate is 0.11 percent. The positive rate in this region increased compared to the previous week.
Next is Sidoarjo. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of people tested in the last week was 917 per week. The positive rate in this region is 2.29 percent, also higher than the previous week's ratio.
Then, Bogor City recorded 826 tests per week, while Garut recorded 797 and Kediri 793 tests per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 87 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher number of daily tests in the last week compared to the previous week. Meanwhile, 215 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of tests in the last week compared to the previous week.
Some of the regions outside Java with the highest number of tests in the last week include Kutai Kartanegara, Badung, and Medan City, with 928, 762, and 676 tests per week respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
