Indonesia Masters 2024 Offers a Total Prize of Rp6.64 Billion: Here's the Breakdown!

The Indonesia Masters 2024 was a world badminton tournament with a BWF Super 500 level. The competition was held from January 23-28, 2024, at Istora Senayan, Jakarta.

In addition to competing for prizes worth US$420,000, equivalent to Rp6.64 billion (assuming Rp15,829 per US$), each player also chased points to qualify for the Paris 2024 Olympics.

"This tournament promises 9,200 ranking points for the participant who successfully becomes the champion," said Armand Darmadji, the Indonesia Masters 2024 Organizing Committee, in his official statement on Monday (22/1/2024).

As the host, Indonesia sent 21 of its best representatives. This consists of 4 men's singles, 3 women's singles, 4 men's doubles, 5 women's doubles, and 5 mixed doubles.

On Thursday (25/1/2024), or the third day of the Indonesia Masters 2024 match, 13 representatives from Tim Garuda advanced to the round of 16.

From the women's singles sector, Gregoria Mariska Tanjung and Ester Nurumi Tri Wardoyo secured their positions in the quarter-finals. They will then compete for a place in the quarter-finals.

Meanwhile, from the mixed doubles sector, Rinov Rivaldy/Phita Haningtyas Mentari were eliminated in the round of 16. They lost to Chinese players Jiang Zhen Bang/Wei Ya Xin in two consecutive games with a score of 13-21, 13-21.

Citing the Badminton World Federation (BWF), here are the prize money amounts for the Indonesia Masters 2024 for each category based on their achievement:

* Men's/Women's Singles: US$31,500
* Men's/Women's/Mixed Doubles: US$33,180 per pair

Runner-up:

* Men's/Women's Singles: US$15,960
* Men's/Women's/Mixed Doubles: US$15,960 per pair

Semi-final:

* Men's/Women's Singles: US$6,090
* Men's/Women's/Mixed Doubles: US$5,880 per pair

Quarter-final:

* Men's/Women's Singles: US$2,520
* Men's/Women's/Mixed Doubles: US$3,045 per pair

Round of 16:

* Men's/Women's Singles: US$1,470
* Men's/Women's/Mixed Doubles: US$1,575 per pair
