Full Basic Immunization Coverage for Infants Aged 0-11 Months in 6 Provinces Achieves 2021 Strategic Plan Target

The Ministry of Health reports that the national coverage of complete basic immunization for infants aged 0-11 months reached 84.2% in 2021. This figure is still below the strategic plan (renstra) target of 93.6%.

The low achievement of complete basic infant immunization last year was due to the optimization of health facility services for COVID-19 pandemic control.

Seventeen provinces had complete basic immunization coverage for infants aged 0-11 months above the national average. Seventeen provinces also had coverage below the national average.

Six provinces achieved the 2021 renstra target: South Sulawesi, Bali, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), Yogyakarta Special Region, Banten, and Bengkulu. These provinces had the highest complete basic immunization coverage for infants under one year old nationally. This is reflected in the map, where these provinces are depicted in the darkest shade of green.

Meanwhile, Aceh, Papua, and West Sumatra recorded the lowest complete basic immunization coverage for infants. This is reflected in the map, where these provinces are depicted in the lightest shade.
