The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 42 regencies/cities with an agglomeration death rate due to Covid-19 above the national average, currently recorded at 0.02 per 100,000 population per week, data as of Tuesday, January 10, 2023.
The top five regencies/cities with agglomeration death rates due to Covid-19 exceeding 0.52 per 100,000 population per week are Kutai Barat (1.32 per 100,000 population per week), Kepulauan Tanimbar (0.89 per 100,000 population per week), Barito Timur (0.77 per 100,000 population per week), Madiun City (0.56 per 100,000 population per week), and Kepulauan Meranti (0.52 per 100,000 population per week).
National Covid-19 data recapitulation from the Ministry of Health shows a decrease in the agglomeration death rate due to Covid-19 in most regencies/cities outside Java. Two regencies/cities recorded a higher daily agglomeration death rate due to Covid-19 than previously, while 15 regencies/cities recorded a lower rate.
Areas outside Java with the highest agglomeration death rates due to Covid-19 include Kutai Barat (1.32 per 100,000 population per week), Kepulauan Tanimbar (0.89 per 100,000 population per week), and Barito Timur (0.77 per 100,000 population per week).
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
