Weekly Expenditure of West Manggarai Regency Residents on Root Crops

The average expenditure of people in West Manggarai Regency to buy potatoes in 2023 was Rp87.12 per capita per week. This figure is lower than the previous year's expenditure, which was recorded at Rp234.81 per capita per week.

The four largest expenditures of residents for the tuber group in West Manggarai Regency, in descending order of spending, are cassava Rp510.93 per capita per week, taro Rp185.13 per capita per week, potatoes Rp87.12 per capita per week, and the lowest expenditure is for sweet potatoes Rp36.93 per capita per week.

Average per capita expenditure is the cost incurred for the consumption of all household members for a month, whether from purchases, gifts, or self-production, divided by the number of household members. Household consumption is distinguished between food and non-food consumption, regardless of the origin of the goods, and is limited to household needs only, excluding consumption/expenditure for business purposes or given to other parties.

Expenditure for food consumption is calculated for a week, while for non-food consumption it is calculated for a month and the previous 12 months. Both food and non-food consumption are then converted into average monthly expenditure. The average per capita consumption/expenditure figures presented in BPS publications are obtained by dividing the total consumption of all households (both consuming food and not) by the total population.

According to Central Statistics Agency (BPS) publications, the average per capita expenditure in this regency reached Rp1.1 million per capita per month in March 2023. This figure increased by 6.92% compared to March 2022, which was Rp1.03 million per capita per month.
