The top five, starting from the highest, are Sibolga, Dairi, Dompu, Bima, and Madiun cities, with 998, 992, 989, 987, and 984 specimens per week, respectively.
Sibolga City ranks first. With a population of 87,681, the number of specimens examined is 998 per week. The latest positive rate is 0 percent. The positive rate in this region has decreased compared to the previous week.
Next is Dairi. The population of this region is recorded at 286,240. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of specimens examined is 992 per week. The positive rate in this region is 0.31 percent, also down from the previous week.
Then, Dompu recorded 989 specimens per week, Bima 987 specimens per week, and Madiun City 984 specimens per week.
Anticipating the impact of Omicron in various regions, based on a recapitulation of national Covid data, there are 266 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reporting a higher number of daily specimens examined than before. Meanwhile, 83 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of specimens examined compared to the previous week.
Some of the regions outside Java with the highest number of specimens examined include Sibolga, Dairi, and Dompu cities, with 998, 992, and 989 specimens examined, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
