Based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 159 regencies/cities aggressively conducted Covid-19 tests exceeding the national average in the last week. Data from the week of December 11, 2022, shows a national average of 151.19 tests per week.
The top five, starting with the highest number of people tested per week, are Bantul (973 people), Cimahi City (972 people), Samarinda City (964 people), Pasuruan (916 people), and Palangkaraya City (900 people).
Bantul ranks first, with 973 people tested per week. The latest positive rate is 4.83 percent, a decrease from the previous week.
Next is Cimahi City, with a population of 610,490. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, 972 people were tested per week. The positive rate is 10.8 percent, also down from the previous week.
Samarinda City recorded 964 tests per week, Pasuruan 916, and Palangkaraya City 900.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, the national Covid-19 data recapitulation shows that 152 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher number of weekly tests than the previous week. Meanwhile, 196 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of weekly tests compared to the previous week.
Outside of Java, areas with the highest number of weekly tests include Samarinda City (964 people), Palangkaraya City (900 people), and West Lampung (689 people).
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
