Based on national Covid-19 data, 157 regencies/cities aggressively conducted Covid-19 tests above the national average. Data as of Friday, June 10, 2022, shows a national average of 0.98 tests per 1,000 people per week.
The top five, starting with the highest number of people tested per 1,000 people per week, are Wakatobi (7.82 people), South Jakarta (7.21 people), Central Jakarta (7.08 people), Balikpapan (6.55 people), and Badung (5.41 people).
Wakatobi ranks first. With a population of 103,230, the number of people tested there is recorded at 7.82 per 1,000 people per week. The latest positive rate is 0.25 percent. The positive rate in this region increased compared to the previous week's percentage.
Next is South Jakarta. In an effort to prevent the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of people tested was 7.21 per 1,000 people per week. The positive rate in this region is recorded at 2.26 percent, also up from the previous week's percentage.
Then, Central Jakarta recorded 7.08 tests per 1,000 people per week, Balikpapan recorded 6.55 tests per 1,000 people per week, and Badung, with a population of 727,950, recorded 5.41 Covid-19 tests per 1,000 people per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, there are 157 regencies/cities in Indonesia that actively report a higher number of daily tests than before. Meanwhile, 210 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of tests compared to the previous week.
Areas outside Java with the highest number of tests include Wakatobi, Balikpapan, and Badung, with 7.82, 6.55, and 5.41 tests per 1,000 people respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
