The Indonesian government has agreed and determined the 2024 national holidays and joint leave days.
"For 2024, the government has decided on a total of 27 national holidays and joint leave days; 17 national holidays and 10 joint leave days," said the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (Menko PMK), Muhadjir Effendy, in a press release on Tuesday (12/9/2023).
Here is the detail schedule of national holidays and joint leave days for 2024:

"The determination of national holidays and joint leave days for 2024 is intended as a guideline for the community, the economic sector, and other private sectors so that they can plan their activities, and as a reference for ministries and government institutions in determining the planning of work programs throughout 2024," said Menko PMK Muhadjir Effendy.
"And the regulations regarding the implementation of holidays and joint leave days in the private sector will be further regulated by the Minister of Manpower," he said.
Menko PMK also revealed that there will be a change in the naming of a number of national holidays based on a proposal from the Ministry of Religion, which is based on proposals from the Christian and Catholic communities, namely:
* The Passing of Jesus Christ (previously Wafat Isa Almasih)
* The Ascension of Jesus Christ (previously Kenaikan Isa Almasih)
* Christmas Day (previously Hari Raya Natal)
"Therefore, the Ministry of Religion will prepare a Presidential Decree (Keppres) proposal for the aforementioned nomenclature changes," said Menko PMK.
The determination of national holidays and joint leave days for 2024 is stipulated in the Joint Decree (SKB) of the Minister of Religion, the Minister of Manpower, and the Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Number 855 of 2023, Number 3 of 2023, and Number 4 of 2023.
