Indonesia Ranks 14th Globally in Highest Number of Covid-19 Recoveries

Worldometer data shows that Indonesia had 3,166,505 Covid-19 cases as of 09:38 WIB on July 26, 2021. 2,509,318 cases, or 79.2%, have recovered. This recovery rate places Indonesia 14th globally. However, this is below the global recovery rate of 90.7%.

Jakarta contributed the highest number of recovered patients, with 716,811 individuals. West Java and Central Java follow with 431,363 and 275,091 recovered patients, respectively. The high recovery rates correlate with the massive number of cases in these regions.

Indonesia is experiencing a surge in Covid-19 cases. The government detected 38,679 new cases in a single day, while 37,640 people recovered from the disease. However, 1,266 people succumbed to the illness during the same period.

Globally, India has the highest Covid-19 recovery rate. Out of a total of 31.4 million cases, 30.6 million have recovered. This results in a recovery rate of 97.3% for India.

The United States follows in second place with 29.5 million recovered Covid-19 cases. Similar to Indonesia, its recovery rate is 83.8%, still below the global percentage. Brazil ranks third, with 18.3 million recovered individuals and a recovery rate of 93.2%.

The government continues to urge the public to follow health protocols to curb the spread of the coronavirus. People need to wash their hands with soap, wear masks, and maintain social distancing. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to minimizing Covid-19 transmission.
