Based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 147 regencies/cities aggressively conducted Covid-19 tests exceeding the national average over the past week. Data from the week of January 15, 2023, shows a national average of 130.94 tests per week.
The top five, starting with the highest number of people tested per week, are Samarinda City (989 people), Sukabumi (951 people), Indramayu (949 people), West Bandung (944 people), and Semarang (930 people).
Samarinda City ranks first. With a population of 873,460, 989 people were tested in the past week. The latest positive rate is 0.3 percent. The positive rate in this region increased compared to the previous week's ratio.
Next is Sukabumi. In an effort to prevent the Covid-19 pandemic, 951 people were tested in the past week. The positive rate in this region is 0.74 percent, down from the previous week's ratio.
Following this, 949 people were tested in Indramayu, 944 in West Bandung, and 930 in Semarang over the past week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 136 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher number of daily tests in the past week compared to the previous week. Meanwhile, 188 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of tests in the past week compared to the previous week.
Areas outside Java with the highest number of tests in the past week include Samarinda City, Pekanbaru City, and Batam City, with 989, 875, and 746 people tested, respectively, in the past week.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
