The top five, starting from the highest percentage of people tested per week, are South Jakarta City (737.66%), Central Jakarta City (692.26%), Balikpapan City (634.94%), Badung (561.81%), and East Jakarta City (482.46%).
South Jakarta City ranks first. The percentage of people tested per week in this area was recorded at 737.66 percent. The latest positive rate is 2.56 percent. The positive rate in this region increased compared to the previous week's percentage.
Next is Central Jakarta City. The population of this region is recorded at 913,720 people. In an effort to counter the Covid-19 pandemic, the percentage of people tested per week was 692.26 percent. The positive rate in this region was recorded at 2.19 percent, or higher than the previous week's ratio.
Furthermore, testing reached 634.94 percent in Balikpapan City, 561.81 percent in Badung, and 482.46 percent in East Jakarta City.
Anticipating the impact of Omicron in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, there are 184 regencies/cities in Indonesia that actively report a higher weekly percentage of people tested than before. Meanwhile, 189 other regencies/cities recorded a lower weekly percentage of people tested compared to the previous week.
Areas outside Java with the highest weekly percentage of people tested include Balikpapan City, Badung, and Teluk Wondama, with weekly testing percentages of 634.94 percent, 561.81 percent, and 474.29 percent, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue to reduce Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the rate of coronavirus transmission.
