The highest increase in confirmed positive COVID-19 cases in NTT currently occurred in East Sumba, with five cases per 100,000 population per week as of Thursday, July 7, 2022. This figure is more than double the number of cases in the second-highest region.
The COVID-19 transmission situation in East Sumba does not appear to be improving. This is indicated by the number of cases this week, which is still higher than the previous week's figure of 0.75 cases per 100,000 population per week.
Next in second place is Lembata. This regency recorded a weekly confirmation rate of 1.98 cases per 100,000 population. Compared to last week, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases this week is still higher, meaning there is no apparent improvement.
Rounding out the top five, besides the two regions above, are Kupang City, Nagekeo, and Central Sumba. Each recorded weekly confirmations of 1.7 cases, 1.34 cases, and 1.32 cases, respectively.
According to the Ministry of Health's list, the next five regencies/cities in the top 10 are West Manggarai, Sabu Raijua, South West Sumba, and East Flores. These regions recorded an average increase of over 0.76 cases per 100,000 population.
