The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 159 districts/cities with a weekly agglomeration of confirmed positive Covid-19 cases above the national average, currently recorded at 1.98 per 100,000 population/week, data as of Monday, December 19, 2022.
The top five districts/cities with confirmed positive cases exceeding 14.88 per 100,000 population/week are Belitung, Sumba Tengah, Balangan, Teluk Bintuni, and Mimika, with values of 20.3, 17.2, 16.35, 15.91, and 14.88 per 100,000 population/week, respectively.
A recapitulation of national Covid-19 data from the Ministry of Health shows a decrease in confirmed positive cases in most districts/cities outside Java. An increase in daily confirmed positive cases compared to previous days was recorded in 39 districts/cities, while 77 districts/cities recorded lower confirmed positive cases.
Areas outside Java with the highest confirmed positive case rates include Belitung, Sumba Tengah, and Balangan, with confirmed positive cases of 20.3, 17.2, and 16.35 per 100,000 population/week, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
