Indonesia's Daily Covid-19 Cases Drop 17.45% in the Last Week

The number of people undergoing Covid-19 tests decreased between July 29 and August 4, 2021. The average was only 144,094 people per day over the past week.

This figure is 17.45% lower than the previous week, which reached 174,546 people per day. The data is also lower than the target of 324,283 corona tests per day in Java and Bali during the Level 4 Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM).

In total, 18,382,837 people have been tested for corona as of yesterday. Compared to the population, this ratio is equivalent to 67,208 people per million inhabitants.

Low testing coverage can lead to many unrecorded corona infections. This situation can cause uncontrolled corona transmission.

The Ministry of Health recorded a total of 3,532,567 corona cases in Indonesia. Of this number, 100,636 people have died from corona.

Therefore, the government needs to increase the rate of corona testing. The public is also urged to diligently implement the 3M health protocols: wearing masks, maintaining distance, and washing hands with soap.
