This testing achievement data is calculated based on the number of people tested compared to each region's weekly target, subsequently reported to the Ministry of Health.
The top five, starting from the highest percentage of people tested per week, are Balikpapan City (386.18%), Gunungsitoli City (259.18%), Purwakarta (240.67%), Garut (213.72%), and Kutai Kartanegara (182.55%).
Balikpapan City ranks first. With a population of 646,020, the weekly testing percentage is recorded at 386.18%. The latest positive rate is 0.68%. The positive rate in this region increased compared to the previous week's ratio.
Next is Gunungsitoli City. The population of this region is recorded at 147,940. In an effort to prevent the Covid-19 pandemic, the weekly testing percentage reached 259.18%. The positive rate in this region is recorded at 0.26%, also higher than the previous week's ratio.
Furthermore, Purwakarta recorded 240.67% testing, Garut 213.72%, and Kutai Kartanegara 182.55%.
Anticipating the impact of Omicron in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, there are 110 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reporting higher weekly testing percentages than before. Meanwhile, 247 other regencies/cities recorded lower weekly testing percentages compared to the previous week.
Regions outside Java with the highest weekly testing percentage ratios include Balikpapan City, Gunungsitoli City, and Kutai Kartanegara, with weekly testing percentages of 386.18%, 259.18%, and 182.55%, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
