Populix conducted a survey on the expenses incurred by Indonesians for breaking fast together during the month of Ramadan.

The results showed that 43% allocate a budget of Rp50,000 to Rp100,000 for a single breaking-fast gathering. Then, there are 30% of respondents who spend less than Rp50,000.

In addition, 15% of respondents spend Rp100,000-Rp150,000, then 7% spend Rp150,000-Rp200,000, and only 5% spend more than Rp200,000 for breaking fast together.

"Eating out during breaking fast shows a variety of shopping habits, where most people choose budget-friendly options, while a small group prefers a more luxurious dining experience," wrote Populix on its official Instagram account, Tuesday (10/3/2026).

The survey also revealed that 57% of respondents eat out for breaking fast 1-2 times. Followed by 11% who do it 3-4 times and 5% more than 5 times.

Based on the location, street food became the choice for 37% of respondents to break fast.

There are also those who choose to break fast together at restaurants (29%), cafes (26%), food courts or malls (6%), and at hotels or luxury restaurants (2%).

This Populix survey involved 3,997 respondents spread across Indonesia. Data collection was conducted online through the PopPoll channel on March 3-6, 2026.
