Indonesia's 2026 Hajj Quota per Province, Largest in East Java

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has set Indonesia's regular Hajj quota for 2026 at 203,320 pilgrims.

The largest Hajj quota is allocated to East Java, while the smallest is for North Sulawesi.

Below is the complete list of regular Hajj quotas per province for 2026:

1. East Java: 42,409 pilgrims
2. Central Java: 34,122 pilgrims
3. West Java: 29,643 pilgrims
4. South Sulawesi: 9,670 pilgrims
5. Banten: 9,124 pilgrims
6. DKI Jakarta: 7,819 pilgrims
7. North Sumatra: 5,913 pilgrims
8. South Sumatra: 5,895 pilgrims
9. Lampung: 5,827 pilgrims
10. West Nusa Tenggara (NTB): 5,798 pilgrims
11. Aceh: 5,426 pilgrims
12. South Kalimantan: 5,187 pilgrims

According to Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak, the Hajj quota per province is determined based on the proportion of the Muslim population and/or the number of Hajj pilgrims on the waiting list in each region.

He stated that the quota distribution prioritizes the principle of fairness, so provinces with a larger number of registrants will receive a larger quota.

"This composition makes the waiting list for all Indonesian Hajj pilgrims uniformly 26 years," said Dahnil during a meeting with Commission VIII of the DPR on Tuesday (October 28, 2025).
