According to a Snapcart survey, Indonesian people continued to spend money on leisure or holidays in the last 3-6 months, even though they perceived the economic conditions to be weakening.
When feeling economically weak, the majority, or 38% of respondents, spent less than Rp250,000 on average for this purpose.
Then, 29% of respondents allocated around Rp250,000-Rp500,000. This was followed by 18% who spent Rp500,000-Rp1 million; 11% spent around Rp1 million-Rp3 million; and 8% spent more than Rp3 million on leisure or holidays.
"These numbers suggest that even in the face of a perceived economic downturn, Indonesians are still finding ways to make room for rest and recreation," wrote Snapcart in its Life Priorities: Part 2 report.
This survey also found that most respondents allocated recreation funds to escape daily stress and pressure, as stated by 39% of respondents.
Some also continued to vacation amidst weak economic conditions to boost mood and productivity (27%), or because it was a family tradition (9%).
Snapcart conducted this online survey in May 2025 with 1,993 respondents spread across Indonesia.
