The Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag) has scheduled the return of Indonesian Hajj pilgrims to the homeland. 6,682 pilgrims are scheduled to depart from King Abdul Aziz International Airport, Jeddah, on Wednesday, July 5, 2023.
According to the official Kemenag website, the 6,000 pilgrims being repatriated that day are from 16 flight groups (kloter).
Surabaya (SUB) debarkation groups 4 and 6 have the highest number of departing pilgrims, with 450 pilgrims each.
Jakarta-Bekasi (JKS) debarkation groups 4 and 3 follow, with 405 and 400 pilgrims respectively.
Several debarkation points have been prepared to welcome the first arriving Hajj pilgrims from the Holy Land.
"Upon arrival at the airport, pilgrims will undergo health checks by the Port Health Office (KKP), after which they will board buses to their respective Hajj dormitories," said Dodo Murtado, Coordinator of the Hajj Media Center (MCH) of the Indonesian Hajj Organizing Committee (PPIH) Central Office, as reported on the Kemenag website on Tuesday (4/6/2023).
Dodo Murtado also urged returning pilgrims to comply with applicable regulations, including those regarding carry-on baggage on the plane.
"According to aviation regulations, prohibited items include flammable/explosive materials, firearms and sharp weapons, gas, aerosols, liquids exceeding 100ml, more than Rp100,000,000 or SAR25,000 in cash, and Zamzam water," said Dodo.
Upon arrival at the dormitory, pilgrims will receive their Zamzam water and luggage. Afterward, they can return to their respective homes.
