There will be 31,000 Hotels in Indonesia in 2024, with Bali having the most.

According to a report by the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS), there were 31,175 hotels in Indonesia in 2024. This figure comprises 4,584 star-rated hotels and 26,591 non-star-rated hotels or other accommodations.

The number increased by 2,120 hotel units or 7.29% from 2022, when there were 29,055 hotels.

"This data indicates that economic recovery is in line with the growth of the tourism industry. It is hoped that this condition will continue in the future," wrote the BPS in its report titled *Hotel and Other Accommodation Statistics in Indonesia 2024*.

In 2024, Bali had the highest number of hotels nationally, reaching 4,154. East Java and West Java followed.

Meanwhile, the province with the fewest hotels was Papua Pegunungan, with only 43 hotels. This was followed by South Papua and Central Papua, with 51 and 90 hotels respectively.

The following is a list of the top 10 provinces with the highest number of hotels in 2024:

1. Bali: 4,154 hotels
2. East Java: 4,055 hotels
3. West Java: 3,125 hotels
4. Central Java: 2,279 hotels
5. Yogyakarta Special Region: 2,000 hotels
6. North Sumatra: 1,441 hotels
7. West Nusa Tenggara: 1,078 hotels
8. West Sumatra: 1,073 hotels
9. South Sulawesi: 1,067 hotels
10. Jakarta Special Capital Region: 1,052 hotels

BPS also recorded that the total revenue of the accommodation service industry in Indonesia reached Rp 188.64 trillion in 2024. This figure soared by 155.82% from the previous year, which recorded revenue of Rp 73.74 trillion.

"This condition is in line with the recovery of the global and national economic growth after the pandemic ended," wrote the BPS.
