Hotel Occupancy Rate in Bintang RI Increases in October 2024

According to a report by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the hotel room occupancy rate (TPK) for star-rated hotels in Indonesia reached 55.67% in October 2024.

This achievement is up 0.99 percentage points compared to September 2024 (month-to-month/mtm). Year-on-year (year-on-year/yoy), the figure increased by 2.65 points compared to October 2023.

Acting Head of BPS, Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti, stated that the highest star-rated hotel occupancy rate was achieved in East Kalimantan, reaching 72.74%. This was driven by several events held in Balikpapan and Samarinda.

"Such as the Kaltim Ethnic World and Nusantara Music Festival, the TNI Fun Run in IKN, the World Walking Day, and others," said Amalia in her online presentation on Monday (December 2nd, 2024).

Next were South Papua and Bali, which achieved star-rated hotel occupancy rates of 67.41% and 64.37%, respectively.

Meanwhile, the lowest star-rated hotel occupancy rate was in West Papua, at only 32.78%. This was followed by Papua Pegunungan with 33.33% and Bangka Belitung Islands with 34.79%.

BPS also noted that the average length of stay for guests at star-rated hotels in Indonesia in October 2024 was 1.64 nights.

Broken down by nationality, the average length of stay for foreign guests was 2.56 nights, while for domestic guests it was 1.53 nights.
