A JakPat survey reveals that 83% of respondents regularly manage investment products. Of this group, 60% choose investment platforms officially registered with the Financial Services Authority (OJK). "Legality, proven by OJK registration, is the most important consideration when choosing an investment platform," JakPat stated in its report titled *Indonesia Investment Trends*.
Ease of application and payment methods were also important factors for 49% of respondents. Other considerations included a trustworthy company (42%), positive social media reviews (35%), and recommendations from close contacts (34%). Respondents also considered the company's longevity (28%), positive media image (25%), promotional programs (22%), and the absence of negative incidents (20%).
The survey also found that 23% of respondents began investing before age 20, while 20% each started investing between ages 20-24 and 25-29.
The JakPat survey involved 2,088 respondents: 53% male and 47% female. The majority of respondents were from non-Jabodetabek Java (52%) and Jabodetabek (33%), with a smaller percentage from outside Java (15%). Respondents were comprised of 45% millennials, 35% Gen Z, and 20% Gen X.
The online survey was conducted on October 1-2, 2024, via the JakPat app, with a margin of error below 5%.
