Ubud, located in Gianyar Regency, Bali, Indonesia, has been listed as one of the most vegan-friendly cities in the world. This is according to the *Most Vegan Friendly Cities in the World* report released by *The Vegan World*, a US-based lifestyle website.
*The Vegan World* based its assessment on the ratio of vegan restaurants to the population. They collected data on the number of vegan restaurants in various regions listed on the *HappyCow* website and compared it to the population of those regions.
The results show Phuket, Thailand, ranked first with a ratio of 41.6 vegan restaurants per 100,000 people in 2023. Ubud came in second with a ratio of 30.7 vegan restaurants per 100,000 people.
"*As a hub for tourists and digital nomads, Ubud is very vegan-friendly*," wrote *The Vegan World* in its report.
Below Ubud is Chiang Mai, Thailand, which has 29.1 vegan restaurants per 100,000 people. According to *The Vegan World*, this city also hosts an annual vegan food festival.
