Indonesia's Star-Rated Hotel Room Occupancy Rate Increased in June 2024

According to the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) report, the hotel occupancy rate (HOR) for star-rated hotels in Indonesia reached 54.69% in June 2024.

This figure is up 0.66 percentage points compared to the previous month and up 1.02 percentage points compared to June of the previous year.

In June 2024, East Kalimantan had the highest national HOR for star-rated hotels at 70.20%.

Acting Head of BPS, Amalia A. Widyasanti, stated that this achievement was influenced by several national events.

"This was driven by the 17th National Working Meeting (Rakernas) of the Indonesian City Government Association (APEKSI) and the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the Nusantara Capital City," said Amalia in a press conference on Monday (1/7/2024).

Following this, Bali and Riau Islands achieved star-rated hotel HORs of 65.78% and 64.78%, respectively.

Meanwhile, the lowest HOR for star-rated hotels was recorded in West Papua at only 33.33%, followed by Bangka Belitung Islands at 28.16%, and West Sulawesi at 28.02%.

In line with star-rated hotels, the HOR for non-star-rated hotels in June 2024 also increased to 27.65%, up 0.54 percentage points month-on-month and up 2.83 percentage points year-on-year.

The highest HOR for non-star-rated hotels in June 2024 was in Bali at 47.05%, followed by DKI Jakarta at 43.64% and Riau Islands at 37.74%.

The lowest HOR for non-star-rated hotels was in Bangka Belitung Islands at only 13.97%, followed by Gorontalo at 15.45% and West Papua at 16.51%.
