Average Schooling Duration of Wajo Residents Still Below National Average

The average schooling duration (RLS) of residents aged 25 and over in Wajo, South Sulawesi reached 7.72 years in 2025.

Quoting data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the RLS of residents in this region is below the South Sulawesi provincial average of 9.0 years in 2025.

Wajo's resident RLS increased by 0.26 years (3.49%) compared to the previous year's 7.46 years. Meanwhile, over the last five years, this RLS has risen by 0.91 years (13.36%).

This RLS indicates that the average Wajo resident only attends school up to the 7th grade level. However, this RLS is still below the national average RLS of 9.07 years in 2025.

When compared to the other 23 regencies/cities in South Sulawesi Province, Wajo's RLS is in 21st place. Other regions in the province with the highest RLS are Makassar City (11.59 years), while the lowest RLS is Jeneponto Regency (7.02 years).
