The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 64 regencies/cities with weekly hospital inpatient use above the national average, currently recorded at 1.95 patients per 100,000 population/week, data as of Thursday, August 18, 2022.
The five top regencies/cities with inpatient use exceeding 8.81 patients per 100,000 population/week are Central Jakarta, Palangkaraya City, Bangli Regency, Mojokerto City, and Banjar Regency, with respective values of 15.54 patients per 100,000 population/week, 10.82 patients per 100,000 population/week, 9.09 patients per 100,000 population/week, 9.09 patients per 100,000 population/week, and 8.81 patients per 100,000 population/week.
A recapitulation of national Covid-19 data from the Ministry of Health shows an increase in inpatient use in most regencies/cities outside Java. A daily inpatient use higher than before was recorded in 37 regencies/cities, while 25 regencies/cities recorded lower inpatient use.
Areas outside Java with the highest inpatient use include Palangkaraya City, Bangli Regency, and Banjar Regency, with inpatient use of 10.82 patients per 100,000 population/week, 9.09 patients per 100,000 population/week, and 8.81 patients per 100,000 population/week, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
