Based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 147 regencies/cities aggressively conducted Covid-19 tests in the last week, exceeding the national average. Data as of Friday, January 13, 2023, shows a national average of 131.14 tests per week.
The top five, starting from the highest, are Deli Serdang, Indramayu, Sukabumi, Pekanbaru City, and Semarang City, with weekly test numbers of 971, 968, 897, 895, and 853, respectively.
Deli Serdang ranks first, with 971 tests conducted last week. The latest positive rate is 1.03 percent, an increase compared to the previous week.
Indramayu follows, with 968 tests conducted last week in its efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic. The positive rate in this region is 0.72 percent, a decrease compared to the previous week.
Furthermore, Sukabumi recorded 897 tests last week, Pekanbaru City recorded 895 tests, and Semarang City recorded 853 tests.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 142 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher number of weekly tests compared to the previous week. Meanwhile, 189 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of weekly tests compared to the previous week.
Outside of Java, some regions with the highest number of weekly tests include Deli Serdang, Pekanbaru City, and Batam City, with 971, 895, and 790 tests conducted last week, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
