The Indonesian government reported 41 additional Covid-19 deaths today, Friday, October 15, 2021. This is higher than the 37 deaths reported the previous day. With today's increase, the total number of Covid-19 deaths since the pandemic began is 142,889.
The increase in Covid-19 deaths occurred across 18 provinces. The province with the highest number of deaths today was Yogyakarta Special Region, with 6 deaths. This was followed by East Java with 5 deaths, and Central Java and Bali with 4 deaths each.
Aceh, Central Kalimantan, and South Kalimantan each reported 3 deaths. Lampung and West Kalimantan each reported 2 deaths.
Furthermore, North Sumatra, Riau, Bangka Belitung, West Java, and Banten each reported 1 death. Similarly, North Kalimantan, North Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, and Maluku each reported 1 death.
The government also reported 915 new confirmed Covid-19 cases today. Jakarta recorded the highest number of new cases, with 124. This was followed by Central Java with 86 cases and West Java with 85 cases. With today's increase, the total number of confirmed cases has risen to 4,233,014.
According to the Ministry of Health's data, 1,408 Covid-19 patients recovered today. East Java recorded the highest number of recoveries, with 132 patients. Central Java recorded 130 recoveries, followed by South Sulawesi with 107 recoveries. With today's increase, the total number of recovered Covid-19 patients has risen to 4,070,807.
