Indonesia Plans to Add 128.86 Million Doses of Covid-19 Vaccines by the End of 2021

PT Bio Farma (Persero) plans to add 128.86 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines by the end of 2021. This means Indonesia will receive 326.8 million doses of vaccine throughout 2021.

The President Director of Bio Farma explained that the company has secured contracts for 27.63 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine in November 2021. Furthermore, 59.7 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine are awaiting the Minister of Health's Decision (KMK) for entry in the same month. Therefore, a total of 87.33 million vaccine doses are planned to arrive in November 2021.

In December 2021, Bio Farma has secured contracts for 5.33 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine. In addition, 32.2 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine are still awaiting the KMK. As a result, a total of 37.53 million vaccine doses are expected to enter Indonesia by the end of the year.

Previously, Indonesia had received 174.13 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine through Bio Farma from January to September 2021. The number of Covid-19 vaccines delivered to Indonesia last month was recorded at 27.81 million doses.

The state-owned pharmaceutical company has distributed 233.35 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine throughout Indonesia. West Java received the largest distribution of Covid-19 vaccines, namely 41.81 million doses.

East Java received 37.1 million doses of the Covid-19 vaccine. Meanwhile, Central Java received 32.13 million doses of the vaccine.
