Based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 167 regencies/cities aggressively conducted specimen examinations exceeding the national average. Data as of Thursday, April 21, 2022, shows a national average of 205.96 specimens per week.
The top five, starting from the highest, are Kudus, Buleleng, Serdang Bedagai, Bengkalis, and Ketapang, with 989, 985, 980, 978, and 971 specimens per week, respectively.
Kudus ranks first. With a population of 893,350, the number of specimens examined is 989 per week. The latest positive rate is 0.1 percent. The positive rate in this region has decreased compared to the previous week.
Next is Buleleng. The population is 672,470. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, 985 specimens were examined per week. The positive rate is 0.28 percent, also down from the previous week.
Serdang Bedagai recorded 980 specimens per week, Bengkalis 978 specimens per week, and Ketapang 971 specimens per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 175 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher number of daily specimen examinations than before. Meanwhile, 184 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of specimens examined compared to the previous week.
Outside Java, some regions with the highest number of specimens examined include Buleleng, Serdang Bedagai, and Bengkalis, with 985, 980, and 978 specimens, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
