Most People Confident COVID-19 Vaccination is Proceeding According to Government Plan

The Indonesian government affirmed that the Covid-19 vaccination program could begin in December 2020 or January 2021. A Kompas Research and Development (Litbang Kompas) poll on this matter showed that 49.2% of respondents were confident that the government could start the vaccination program on target.

Meanwhile, 39.1% of respondents stated they were not confident that the government could begin vaccination on target. Another 11.7% responded that they did not know.

The government is currently exploring four companies that will supply Covid-19 vaccines from abroad. Three of these companies are from China: Sinovac, Sinopharm, and CanSino. The other company is AstraZeneca, based in the United Kingdom.

Litbang Kompas conducted the poll among 522 respondents aged 17 and above. The research covered 34 provinces in Indonesia. The confidence level is 95% with a margin of error of ± 4.3%.

Before the vaccination takes place, it is crucial for the public to diligently follow the 3M protocol (washing hands with soap, wearing a mask, and maintaining distance from crowds) to curb the spread of Covid-19.
