Based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 151 regencies/cities aggressively conducted Covid-19 tests in the last week, exceeding the national average. Data as of Friday, September 2, 2022, shows a national average of 159.19 tests per week.
The top five, starting from the highest, are Tasikmalaya, Sukabumi City, Sukabumi Regency, Blora, and Lamongan, with weekly test numbers of 996, 982, 932, 928, and 919 respectively.
Tasikmalaya ranks first, with 996 tests per week. The latest positive rate is 1.71 percent, lower than the previous week.
Next is Sukabumi City, with a population of 331,750. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, 982 tests were conducted per week. The positive rate is 2.34 percent, also lower than the previous week.
Following this, Sukabumi Regency conducted 932 tests per week, Blora (population 866,140) conducted 928 tests per week, and Lamongan conducted 919 tests per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 126 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher number of weekly tests compared to the previous week. Meanwhile, 232 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of weekly tests compared to the previous week.
Areas outside Java with the highest number of weekly tests include Padang City, Jambi City, and Gianyar, with 693, 683, and 683 tests per week respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing transmission by wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
