The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 41 regencies/cities with an agglomeration death rate due to COVID-19 above the national average, currently recorded at 0.01 per 100,000 population per week as of Thursday, January 26, 2023.
The five regencies/cities with the highest agglomeration death rate due to COVID-19, exceeding 0.24 per 100,000 population per week, are Magelang City, Aceh Barat Daya, Mamasa, West Lombok, and Pringsewu, with respective rates of 0.82, 0.63, 0.61, 0.27, and 0.24 per 100,000 population per week.
A recapitulation of national COVID-19 data from the Ministry of Health shows a decrease in the agglomeration death rate due to COVID-19 in most regencies/cities outside Java. Zero regencies/cities recorded a higher daily agglomeration death rate due to COVID-19 than previously, while 12 regencies/cities recorded a lower rate.
Areas outside Java with the highest agglomeration death rates due to COVID-19 include Aceh Barat Daya, Mamasa, and West Lombok, with rates of 0.63, 0.61, and 0.27 per 100,000 population per week, respectively.
Although COVID-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
